One of the more serious areas is along the rim of one of the smaller plates where aout 1.5" of the trim is scraped away and one plate has been glued the other areas are small chips or small spots of missing gold trim.I suspect that these areas could be dealt with. I tried to get a photo of all of the areas with problems, but you could hardly tell what you were looking at. Some of the pieces have some crazing from age and nearly all of the flaws are on the back side of the pieces and not very visible unless you look close. I have included photos of the most affected areas. There are some condition issues as a result of age and some use, but nothing too serious. Each piece is trimmed in gold and the field color of the pieces is a soft Ivory. This China has been in our family since the 1940s and from what I was able to find out about it, I believe it was made in 1943. I could not find the name of the pattern for these pieces but the decorationhas a lovely Blue pastel border with a soft Pink floral design. and inside of the basket logo "Semi Vitreous", this is also printed on the bottom of the bowl and in script lettering are the numers 1559 UG. Printed on the back of all but one of the dinner plates is: Edwin M Knowles China Co. SIX SMALL BOWLS, 5.5" across and 11.5" around. SIX SMALL PLATES, 6" across and 19.5 around. ONE SERVING BOWL, 2.5" in height, 9" across and 28" around with a small chip on the bottom of the rim edge about 1/2" in length. This BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE 30 PIECE SET of EDWIN M KNOWLES CHINA includes: FIVE DINNER PLATES, 9.5" across and 30" around. I have the exact same bowl! I have never been able to find anything about it either. The earlier vase mark has 6 central diamonds in the bottom crosshatching. The late vase mark has 5 central diamonds in the bottom crosshatching. It turns out that the "36-6" would indicate that it is was made in "1936" and in the 6th month I found this website with helpful info regarding these china pieces. Could you help me in finding a price for this set? Thank you. I have only been able to find a serving bowl. I cannot find anything about value of items. Made in USA They have 36-6 on bottom and Fashion, Shape. I have several plates and bowls made by Edwin M. There might not be a pattern name because it is a decorative piece as opposed to being part of a dinnerware set. It is a very typical piece from that era.
